Privacy policy

This page explains how Car Event Map Japan (“this site”) handles visitor information. The Japanese version is the authoritative text.

1. Analytics

To understand and improve how the site is used, we use Google Analytics (GA4) provided by Google LLC. It uses cookies and similar technologies to collect anonymous information such as pages viewed, device type and approximate region. This information does not identify you personally. See Google’s policy for details. You can disable collection in your browser settings or with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.

2. Location

Only when you press the “Near me” button, your browser’s location is used to move the map. Your location stays on your device and is never sent to or stored on our server.

3. Maps and images

Maps are provided by OpenFreeMap (OpenStreetMap data), with the Geospatial Information Authority of Japan’s map as a fallback. When the map loads, your IP address and similar information are sent to these servers.

Event details may show the original announcement page’s sharing image as a link to that page. The image is loaded directly from the original site’s server, so your IP address and similar information are sent to that server.

4. Advertising

This site does not currently use advertising services. If we start using third-party advertising, we will update this policy and announce it.

5. Contact information

Enquiries are handled through the operator’s form. Your name, contact details and message are used only to reply and to check listings, and are not shared with third parties except as required by law.

6. Listings

Listings contain only facts such as the date and venue, taken from public announcements. We do not publish the announcement text or the poster’s account information. Images are limited to the sharing image set by the original page and are shown as a link to it (they are not stored on our server). If an organizer asks for a listing to be removed, we will review and act promptly.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when laws or the service change. Changes take effect when they are posted on this page.
